Job summary

Unity is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Feature Platform to build production-grade data pipelines powering ads, ML, and analytics. You will own end-to-end offline data flows from ingestion to feature-ready datasets, and contribute to the Feature Store with online serving integration.

You will work with ML, backend and product teams, leveraging Python, Java, SQL, Spark, Flink, Kubernetes, and Go to deliver scalable infrastructure that supports training and real-time serving.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals in production systems.
• Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines (Python/Java/SQL).
• Experience with distributed processing frameworks (Spark, Flink).
• Understanding offline data systems with online serving layers (feature stores, low-latency APIs).
• Experience with cloud-native environments, Kubernetes, and workflow orchestration tools.
• Strong ownership mindset focused on correctness and maintainability.
• Go experience is a plus for feature-serving services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines powering ads optimization and ML.
• Own end-to-end offline data flows from raw events to feature-ready datasets.
• Develop and maintain batch and streaming systems (Python/Java/SQL) with emphasis on performance and cost-efficiency.
• Contribute to the Feature Store and integration with the online serving layer (Go-based).
• Translate product and monetization logic into robust analytics infrastructure.
• Improve observability, testing frameworks, and quality standards across the platform.
• Lead architectural decisions within the Feature Platform team.
