Job summary

Discord Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of our next-generation experimentation platform, including AI-assisted workflows. You will mentor engineers and collaborate with teams across the company.

You will design core services, data pipelines, and tooling, while championing privacy and data governance to support experimentation across products used by millions of users daily. Strong Python/SQL and data-store experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a full-stack SWE.
• Built internal tools, familiarity with A/B testing and statistical frameworks.
• Experience with experimentation tooling; building core parts of experimentation platforms is a plus.
• Led complex technical projects with successful outcomes.
• Built systems with data governance and privacy controls.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; Typescript or Rust is a plus.
• Experience with relational, NoSQL, and data warehouse datastores.
• Strong product sense and cross-functional communication.
• Track record of developing engineers at multiple levels and staying current with industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support Discord's next generation experimentation platform: core services, data pipelines, tooling, analytics, and UX.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders and customers across the company.
• Understand and influence product telemetry practices to support experimentation needs.
• Build high-scale data systems and delightful user experiences powering internal teams and features used by millions.
• Deliver business results by experimenting on features, ML models, and more.
