Job summary

Discord is hiring a Staff Data Engineer to lead analytics data infrastructure, ensuring trusted, self-serve datasets used across the company for internal decisions and external reporting. You will define strategy, implement data models, and drive governance with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data and software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define technical strategy and architectural direction for analytics data infrastructure.
• Own end-to-end data governance programs with policy translation into infrastructure.
• Design and build data abstractions and analytical frameworks using SQL, Python, and modern data stack technologies.
• Develop data quality frameworks, monitoring, and alerting at massive scale with governance and lineage tracking.
• Drive adoption of consistent data modeling patterns, naming conventions, and metric governance.
• Lead cross-functional technical initiatives and mentor engineers to accelerate delivery.
