Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build scalable enterprise applications at the intersection of enterprise systems and AI. You will work on cloud-native solutions powering Rivian's supply chain, manufacturing, and operations from planning to logistics and supplier ecosystems.

The role requires 5+ years of software engineering, proficiency in Python/Go/TypeScript, and experience with React/Angular/Next.js, SQL and NoSQL databases, plus cloud platforms and containerized deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python/Go/TypeScript.
• Experience with React/Angular/Next.js.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of distributed architecture and data pipelines.
• Familiar with AI-powered coding tools and observability stacks.
• Ability to communicate complex tech docs across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, cloud-native enterprise apps for supply chain and manufacturing operations.
• Lead complex technical initiatives from concept to production.
• Build, test, and release mission-critical applications for internal and external users.
• Design workflows and automation with an AI-first mindset.

• Maintain high standards for architecture, testing, security, and performance.
