Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including leading a significant system or domain.
• Experience owning a problem space end to end with minimal direction.
• Strong Python and production React; AWS experience.
• Deep system design knowledge: APIs, data modeling, service boundaries.
• Clear, concise technical writing: specs and design docs.
• Experience with AI coding agents and owning the result.
• Ability to size effort to business value, not engineering interest.
• Comfort working with operators on the floor in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Own a domain of Redwood OS end to end: define, design, ship, operate in production.
• Translate ambiguous business asks into clear specifications for engineers and AI agents.
• Make tradeoff-aware design decisions across services, data models, APIs, integrations, observability, access control.
• Set code review bar: use AI effectively, decompose work, guardrails, verify output at volume.
• Keep platform coherent as multiple engineers and agents change it in parallel.
• Debug and resolve production issues and improve reliability.
• Mentor through documentation, conventions, tooling, and guidance.
• Work on-site with stakeholders 3 days a week: floor walks, pair sessions, demos.
