Job summary

BDO USA, LLP in Dallas seeks a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and hands-on development for Tax products and AI-enabled platforms. You will design scalable services, enforce engineering standards, and drive delivery excellence across Agile teams.

You will lead architecture reviews, build backend services and REST APIs, and deliver UI components aligned with product needs, while safeguarding security and governance in AI features.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in progressive software engineering for enterprise products.
• 5+ years building production services and APIs in C#/.NET or Java.
• 3+ years leading design reviews and setting engineering standards.
• 3+ years delivering Agile/Lean and continuous improvement.
• 2+ years developing AI-enabled software with LLMs and governance controls.
• Experience with Dynamics/ERP integrations and tax platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of features for BDO Tax products and integrations.
• Guide architecture, scalability, and reliability of services and APIs.
• Develop backend services and REST APIs with modern practices.
• Build UI components aligned to product requirements and accessibility.
• Develop AI-enabled capabilities with governance and safety controls.
• Establish engineering standards through reviews and templates.
• Collaborate in agile teams to refine requirements and deliver iteratively.
• Improve developer productivity with reusable tooling and libraries.
• Implement automated testing and CI/CD with security checks.
• Maintain observability and perform performance/reliability engineering.
