Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and hands-on development for BDO Tax products and platforms, including AI-enabled solutions and Dynamics/ERP integrations. The role designs, builds, and maintains scalable services and user experiences, and drives delivery excellence through Agile and Lean practices.

You will partner with product, design, QA, and DevOps to define roadmaps, implement secure coding, CI/CD, observability, and governance for responsible AI

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• 5+ years building production-grade services using C#/.NET or Java.
• 3+ years providing technical leadership through design/code reviews.
• 3+ years delivering Agile delivery with Lean practices.
• 3+ years building CI/CD pipelines supporting frequent deployments.
• 2+ years developing AI-enabled software using LLMs and agent workflows.
• Experience with Dynamics/ERP integrations and tax platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads design and implementation of features for BDO Tax products and integrations.
• Provides architectural direction for services, APIs, and UI components.
• Develops backend services and REST APIs with versioning and resilience.
• Builds AI-enabled capabilities using approved platforms with governance.
• Establishes engineering standards via reviews and reference implementations.
• Collaborates in agile teams to refine requirements and deliver incrementally.
• Improves developer productivity with reusable libraries and tooling.
• Implements automated testing and partners with QA for coverage.
• Maintains CI/CD pipelines and release automation with security gates.
• Implements observability and performance/reliability engineering.
