Job summary

BDO USA seeks a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and hands-on development for Tax products, including AI-enabled solutions and Dynamics/ERP integrations. You will design scalable services, enforce engineering standards, and drive delivery in Agile teams.

You will partner with product, design, QA and DevOps to define roadmaps, improve reliability, implement CI/CD pipelines, observability, and governance for responsible AI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience delivering enterprise software.
• 5+ years building and maintaining production-grade services and APIs using C#/.NET or Java.
• 3+ years providing technical leadership through design/code reviews and engineering standards.
• 3+ years delivering solutions with Agile and Lean practices.
• 3+ years building CI/CD pipelines and release automation.

Responsibilities

• Leads design and implementation of software features and platform capabilities for Tax products and Dynamics/ERP integrations.
• Provides technical direction on architecture, scalability, and reliability for services, APIs, and UIs.
• Develops and maintains backend services and REST APIs with modern engineering practices.
• Develops UI components and workflows aligned to product requirements and accessibility standards.
• Builds AI-enabled product capabilities with governance-aligned safety controls.
