Job summary

Stripe, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the High Availability and Disaster Recovery team. You will help design and build highly available, resilient distributed systems and optimize latency-critical paths across data centers and regions.

Work with distributed teams across the United States and Canada. You’ll mentor future tech leaders and drive initiatives that balance reliability with engineering velocity while maintaining Stripe’s high standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of distributed and cloud-native software development.
• Deep understanding of scalable, resilient systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience leading large, cross-team projects.

• Proven technical leadership and mentoring across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Improve Stripe’s reliability posture by collaborating with leaders and engineers.
• Design, implement, and deploy robust distributed services balancing reliability, latency, throughput, and cost.
• Develop new products and prototypes to improve resiliency and velocity.
• Mentor and grow engineers across teams.
• Contribute to engineering strategy, tooling, and culture.
• Uphold high engineering standards and improve codebase.
