Job summary

Asurion is seeking a Staff Software Engineer–Hub Team in Nashville, TN. You will design, build, and evolve cloud-native applications, owning features end-to-end from concept to production.

You’ll collaborate across product, design, and engineering to deliver reliable software with a focus on performance and long-term maintainability. This senior role emphasizes mentoring, architectural input, and elevating the engineering bar through thoughtful design, automated testing, and modern DevOps

Qualifications

• Asurion requires a bachelor's degree in CS/SE or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and supporting production software.
• Strong experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks like React.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience deploying cloud-native apps on AWS with serverless and container-based architectures.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and OO/FP principles.
• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) and CI/CD.
• Proven ability to lead technical implementations with minimal oversight.
• Mentoring engineers via code reviews and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-native applications across frontend and backend.
• Own the technical implementation of complex features from design through production deployment.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineers to translate business needs into software.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and scalable backend services.
• Write clean, high-quality, well-tested code focused on performance and reliability.
• Champion best practices: automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and operational excellence.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and guide technical direction.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve observability.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance and problem solving.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve developer productivity and product quality.
