Google is seeking a software engineer to advance security and governance across its Hybrid Cloud Environment. You will lead a consolidated team and drive secure, scalable platforms, policies, and automation for cloud workloads and AI/automation initiatives.

The role emphasizes leadership, architectural decisions, and hands-on development of secure cloud controls and policy execution, with a strong impact on global Google Cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• Minimum: bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; 8 years in software development.
• Experience in applications security, cryptography, network security, systems security or malware analysis.
• Experience with Engineering Tools and Infrastructure and with Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities aligning strategy and goals across teams.
• Establish expectations and provide regular performance feedback and coaching.
• Lead design and execution of dynamic security controls and gated deployment pipelines.
• Serve as technical anchor for Hybrid Guardrails team, reviewing designs and mentoring leaders.
• Design components that evaluate workload and data sensitivity to enforce guardrails.
