Job summary

Google is seeking a Staff Security Engineer Manager to lead security and software engineers in safeguarding Google Cloud Platform and related infrastructure. The role emphasizes building safer systems, leading vulnerability identification, and applying AI/ML to automate security workflows across Google's cloud products.

Required are extensive experience in security assessments, threat modeling, security engineering, coding, and strong leadership skills to drive Google-wide security improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
• 8 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
• 8 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
• 5 years of experience in managing a team of engineers or security professionals.

Responsibilities

• Manage, hire and lead teams of Security and Software engineers.
• Drive identification and elimination of vulnerabilities across Google Cloud Platform products and shared infrastructure.
• Guide AI/ML-driven approaches to automate vulnerability identification, triage, mitigation and remediation.
• Maintain a high level of operational independence while collaborating with teams globally to align strategy and technical direction.
