Job summary

Snowflake is hiring a Staff Software Engineer - CI on the Engineering Systems team. You will set technical direction for a scalable CI platform powering thousands of developers and millions of builds across a multi-repository codebase.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and partner with product and leadership to shape quarterly roadmaps while staying ahead of CI/CD trends and security considerations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of industry experience designing and building distributed systems at scale.
• A track record of technical leadership — owning system architecture and raising the technical bar.
• Deep experience with enterprise-grade CI for cloud-based distributed systems.
• Strong passion for developer productivity and treating DX as a product.
• Excellent CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and systems design.
• Fluency in Java, C++, Python, or Go.
• Strategic mindset with ability to translate strategy into plans.
• Ability to mentor and influence engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and architecture of Snowflake's CI platform across thousands of developers and multi-repo codebases.
• Lead the design and implementation of elastic, fault-tolerant CI services across cloud providers.
• Drive CI platform strategy with product and engineering leadership.
• Set the engineering bar through reviews and architectural guidance for enterprise-grade infra.
• Identify and resolve systemic technical challenges like performance, isolation, and security.
• Mentor and develop engineers to raise technical judgment and craftsmanship.
• Stay ahead by adopting emerging CI/CD technologies and patterns.
• Be a key stakeholder in cross-team initiatives to improve developer productivity.
