Job summary

Mozilla is seeking a WebCompat Engineer to help reduce Firefox's WebCompat bug backlog by finishing or verifying diagnoses of the long tail of site breakage. You will translate findings into actionable bugs and propose interventions or simple fixes, often with AI assistance.

You will reproduce, triage, and land fixes for reported site-breakage, working closely with developers to validate cross-browser compatibility and deliver stable user experiences across the web.

Qualifications

• Strong web development skills in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience debugging real-world site breakage.
• Proficient with browser DevTools and cross-browser diagnosis.

Job description

• Reproduce and triage incoming site-breakage reports.

Required qualifications

• Solid web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and comfort debugging real-world site breakage.
• Fluent with browser devtools and cross-browser diagnosis.
• Comfortable using AI tooling to speed up diagnosis and fixes.

Preferred

• Gecko knowledge is a strong plus (but can be taught).
• Prior WebCompat or web-standards experience.
