Job summary

Verily is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the architecture and delivery of billing-related systems in a hybrid Dallas context. You will guide end-to-end design, ensure compliance, and elevate engineering practices across teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, define robust requirements with product partners, and push for scalable, secure solutions that power Verily's consumer ecosystem and research initiatives.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience driving reliable, scalable, secure products in production.
• Experience with cloud technologies and modern deployment tooling; strong system design fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, delivery, and testing of large-scale, compliant software systems aligned with strategic goals.
• Translate undefined problem spaces into structured software plans, timelines, and execution.
• Mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and improve tooling and workflows.
