Job summary

Carrum Health, Inc. is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to own the billing and payments platform. You will centralize pricing into a single service, design robust APIs, and drive end-to-end ownership of revenue-critical systems.

Work in Ruby on Rails with React and PostgreSQL, Docker, and AWS. This remote-first role collaborates with Product, Finance, and Operations to ship impactful improvements across the platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production systems.
• Led technical initiatives across multiple teams in ambiguous problem spaces.
• Designed APIs and data models that serve multiple consumers.
• Production experience with Ruby on Rails, React, PostgreSQL, Docker and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision for billing and payments and translate it into an incremental plan.
• Lead the effort to centralize pricing into a single source of truth and decouple billing from existing systems.
• Own revenue-critical systems end to end with strong observability and safe rollback.
• Partner with Product and Finance to shape the roadmap and explain engineering tradeoffs in business terms.
• Lead cross-team initiatives and write design docs, ADRs, and diagrams defining billing architecture.
