BigQuery is a fast, serverless data warehouse; candidates should have 8+ years in programming and distributed systems, with strong C++, Java, or Python skills and a passion for scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including Java, C/C++ or Python.
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
• 5 years of building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or compute/storage/hardware knowledge.
• 5 years of coding in C, C++, Java, or Python.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on projects.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
• Improve BigQuery engine to reduce latency and bottlenecks while keeping maintainable design.
• Collaborate on the BigQuery and Dremel codebase, primarily C++ with some Java and Python in data paths.
