Google's infrastructure team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure, Infra Bigtable in New York or Sunnyvale. You will work on large-scale distributed systems and contribute to the Bigtable storage infrastructure, partnering across teams to deliver robust backend services.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development using C++.
• 5 years of experience with concurrent programming (e.g., multi-threading, asynchronous processing) or analyzing and optimizing software performance.
• 5 years of experience architecting and developing large-scale distributed systems (e.g., compute, storage, or databases).

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• Experience engineering database internals (e.g., storage engines, consensus algorithms, replication protocols, or query optimization).
• Experience building and operating high-throughput backend services, distributed architectures, or systems with strict high-availability requirements.
• Experience contributing to shared enterprise-level codebases or utilizing continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
