Job summary

Horizon3 is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical work for NodeZero's defensive agents, translating attack paths into continuous remediation and shaping the product strategy. You will set direction with AI researchers and lead engineers, owning the technical strategy for autonomous remediation within NodeZero.

You will write production code weekly, review PRs, and mentor engineers while partnering with Product to sequence problems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
7+ yrs professional software engineering experience using modern object-oriented or functional languages.
Experience building applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with Docker and Kubernetes.
Deep experience with agentic or LLM-backed systems in production with containment.
Expert proficiency in SQL.
Distributed systems in production: asynchronous workflows, queues, retries, idempotency.

Responsibilities

Owns end-to-end technical vision for the workstream from conception to shipping and deprecation.
Contributes production code at Lead/Staff level in Python, Go, Rust, or similar in a service-oriented environment.
Sets and raises technical bar via design reviews, code quality, and disciplined ops practices.
Mentors engineers and builds frameworks for others to do their best work.
Serves as a technical interface between AI research and platform engineering, guiding direction early.
