Job summary

Engine is hiring a Staff Software Engineer in the United States to own大型 distributed systems design and API implementation. You will drive scalable architectures, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product and Data Science to deliver high-quality, AI-enabled experiences for customers.

You will utilize a modern stack including Node.js, TypeScript, Kotlin, React, and AWS, applying Domain-Driven Design and an AI-first mindset to build robust platforms and APIs that power Engine's travel

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining distributed systems.
• Proven track record building public-facing APIs with versioning and rate limiting.
• Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, Kotlin, React, and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement system design outputs across the team for scalable, secure, high-performance software.
• Apply an AI-first mindset and work with agentic coding tools and workflows.
• Collaborate with Product and Data Science to deliver seamless customer experiences.
• Mentor mid-to-senior engineers and lead initiatives to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Own key initiatives to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
