Job summary

MoonPay, a leader in payments and crypto, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own PayBox end-to-end and drive the next growth phase. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and a small, focused team, shaping a product with ambitious scope across AI platforms and DeFi integrations.

You’ll ship on multiple tracks, from onboarding flows to new PayBox capabilities, balancing deep technical work with pragmatic product decisions in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Own significant PayBox areas end-to-end from problem to production.
• Drive 0→1 development and growth for PayBox features.
• Build payment and peer-to-peer experiences designed for AI interfaces.
• Create integrations across AI platforms and the PayBox ecosystem.
• Develop infrastructure and experiences to onboard new apps onto PayBox.
• Collaborate with Product to translate ambitious ideas into simple experiences.
• Refine onboarding and UX; reduce friction for users.
• Reason from first principles and make pragmatic decisions with limited data.
• Move across product areas to tackle high-impact problems.
• Leverage AI extensively to boost speed while maintaining judgment.
