Job summary

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Staff Engineer to architect enterprise platforms for intelligent space planning and optimization across Walmart’s stores and depots. You will build model runtimes, feature stores, and CI/CD pipelines while applying cloud-native patterns to scale in a retail environment.

You will lead AI-driven systems, integrate multi-step reasoning for space planning workflows, and mentor engineers to drive secure, modular, and maintainable solutions aligned with roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related field.
• 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Alternatively, 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Master’s degree in CS/CE/CIS/Software Engineering or related area (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Architect Enterprise Platforms using microservices, containers, and automation to deliver scalable infrastructure.
• Build AI-driven applications and intelligent automation features.
• Own the full software development lifecycle: coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, and maintenance.
• Mentor engineers and junior leaders across teams, fostering growth and safety.
• Drive cross-functional execution and translate business challenges into actionable insights.
