Job summary

project44 is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our engineering team in Chicago. You will own technical solutions for broad integration challenges and influence multiple teams with architectural decisions and mentoring.

You will work in a fast-paced Agile environment, shaping strategy for cross-team systems, and partnering with stakeholders to align requirements and drive delivery of scalable, resilient integrations.

Qualifications

• 9+ years professional experience building large-scale, real-time or near-real-time cloud systems.
• Strong programming and debugging skills, with deep proficiency in Java.
• Demonstrated experience owning technical solutions end-to-end and leading their execution across a team.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and technical direction for state-of-the-art integrations that expand our network of carriers and customers.
• Manage integrations through their full life cycle and improve the visibility platform.
• Own data-consistency and changelog pipelines across downstream consumers.
• Design resilient integrations with external providers, handling rate limits and retries.
• Build systems in a multi-cloud environment (AWS and GCP).
• Mentor engineers across teams and lead technical direction.
