Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the AI DevEx team at Auth0 to help extend and complement the Auth for GenAI offering. You will build the infrastructure, tooling, and experiences that empower both human developers and AI agents to create secure, intelligent applications.

This role requires leading architecture, collaborating across engineering, product, and security, and contributing to open source while delivering developer-friendly documentation and demos that showcase secure

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering building tools or platforms for other developers.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Golang or Python.
• Experience with LLM APIs, agent runtimes, or orchestration layers.
• Familiar with OAuth2/OIDC/JWT authentication.
• Experience leading architecture for scalable, production-grade systems.
• Contribute to Open Source and developer communities.
• Strong documentation skills for developer experience.
• Thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build developer tooling for secure infrastructure management.
• Create demo apps showing secure, identity-powered AI use cases.
• Contribute to Open Source projects within Auth0 and the broader AI/identity ecosystem.
• Write and maintain API references, quickstarts, and best practices for developers and AI tooling.
• Drive integration with emerging AI frameworks by creating adapters and interfaces for runtimes.
• Collaborate with design, product, and security on developer needs and roadmap directions.
• Mentor engineers, promoting code quality, testing practices and architectural thinking.
• Influence engineering standards and ensure resilience and security of agent-to-agent or model-to-service communications.
