Job summary

Verkada is seeking a security engineering leader to partner with the Core Command team. You will drive threat models, security design reviews, and refine tools that secure the Verkada Command platform core services, web frontend, and mobile apps.

You will guide architecture decisions, set security roadmaps, and mentor engineers to embed security thinking across all products and lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent required.
• Strong experience with AWS, GCP or other cloud providers.
• 7+ years as a security engineer in an advisory role.
• Coding ability with production Python/Go code and automation basics.
• Excellent collaborative and written/verbal communication skills.
• Familiar with security lifecycle, threat modeling, design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Embed security into the software development lifecycle across products.
• Lead threat modeling and security design reviews for features.
• Develop and operate security tooling and secure defaults.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve security postures.
• Grow security practices and share knowledge through conferences/blogs.
