Job summary

Replit is building a comprehensive agentic commerce platform in Foster City, CA. We seek a Staff Software Engineer to set technical direction for the Money team, owning architecture and cross-team delivery for agent-based purchasing experiences.

You will design and implement extensible integrations, including Stripe, and ensure secure, scalable, and reliable commerce workflows from intent through fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Track record of Staff-level leadership on complex, customer-facing platforms.
• Strong hands-on engineering, architecture, and system design skills.
• Experience building extensible third-party integrations and handling failures.
• Security-conscious approach to authentication, authorization, and data.
• Ability to align across teams and document decisions clearly.
• Mentor engineers and raise the engineering bar with production ownership.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end purchasing experiences through Replit Agent with clear costs and approvals.
• Build extensible merchant, vendor, and service-provider integrations.
• Extend Stripe/payments capabilities to support new purchasing experiences.
• Design agent-facing APIs with secure credentials and scoped permissions.
• Partner with product and security for enterprise purchasing requirements.
• Own the purchase lifecycle: provisioning, state, receipts, and renewals.
• Ensure idempotent, reliable agent-driven transactions with proper recovery.
• Drive cross-team initiatives with hands-on implementation and mentoring.
