Job summary

Therapymatch, Inc. (Headway) is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and implement ML-powered systems for insurance operations in a fully remote role.

You will collaborate with product and data teams to translate complex requirements into scalable software. Responsibilities include building data-intensive platforms for patient identification, pricing estimates, provider matching, and claims; mentoring engineers; and delivering reliable, automated eligibility checks and claims processing

Qualifications

• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python 3.
• Frontend experience with React, Remix, Next.js.
• Backend experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Postgres.
• Cloud and data tooling with AWS, Kafka, Snowflake.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into shipped software.

To support the mission of improving mental healthcare access, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will lead the design and implementation of systems for insurance operations, focusing on patient identification, pricing estimates, provider matching, and claims, all within a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data-intensive, ML-powered platforms that enhance patient and provider experiences
• Mentor engineers and write high-impact code to improve the accuracy and reliability of insurance operations
• Build and maintain systems that automate eligibility checks and claims processing to support scalable operations

Required qualifications

• Proficiency in programming languages such as TypeScript and Python 3
• Experience with frontend technologies including React, Remix, and Next.js
• Familiarity with backend frameworks and tools such as FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and Postgres
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and data processing tools like Kafka and Snowflake
• Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous problems into shipped software solutions
