Job summary

TrendAI is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the architectural evolution of our on-premises network security management appliance and its bridge to our cloud microservices platform. The role centers on the appliance backend, a mature Java codebase running on WildFly with MariaDB and ColumnStore data tiers, and expands to React front-ends and Go/Node cloud services on AWS.

As a Staff IC, you will own technical direction, mentor engineers across teams, and champion AI-augmented development

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering in enterprise-grade production systems.
• Strong Java/JVM depth in multi-threaded, high-concurrency codebases.
• Experience with WildFly/Jakarta EE and related technologies (EJB/JPA/JMS/JAX-RS).
• Solid relational/ analytical DB design and tuning (MariaDB, MySQL, ColumnStore, PostgreSQL).
• Proven full-stack skills (React/TypeScript) with RESTful APIs; SOAP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend architecture for on-premises appliance; evolving large Java codebase.
• Modernize legacy subsystems with clean boundaries and testable interfaces.
• Own data tier architecture (MariaDB, ColumnStore, RDS); optimize queries and migrations.
• Deliver cohesive full-stack capabilities with React/TypeScript UI.
• Design and evolve high-performance RESTful APIs and SOAP services with backward compatibility.
• Architect and integrate cloud microservices (Go/Node.js) on AWS, serverless where possible.
