Datavant is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape the technical direction and architecture of the business unit. You will drive innovation, tackle large-scale challenges, and mentor engineers to maximize impact with autonomy.

You’ll influence cross-team outcomes across data architecture, security, and reliability. You will work with a tech stack spanning Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, React, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Snowflake, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and more.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Deep experience with large-scale distributed systems and multi-cloud architectures.
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence architectural evolution.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead multi-team technical strategies for scalability and interoperability.
• Design frameworks and reusable systems used across multiple engineering pods. Define engineering patterns adopted across Datavant.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives in data architecture, security, and reliability.
• Advise leadership on technical direction and major tradeoffs.
