Job summary

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in enterprise software, a related technical degree, and a proven track record of leading cross-team initiatives in distributed systems and APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams/products.
• Experience designing distributed systems/APIs/integration platforms/cloud-native apps.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction without formal management authority.
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and influence architectural direction across the Access Engineering portfolio.
• Lead technical strategy for initiatives spanning multiple products and teams.
• Evaluate tradeoffs and guide scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Create reusable patterns, reference implementations, and standards.
• Promote best practices for quality, reliability, security, observability, and maintainability.
• Improve automated testing, production readiness, and operational excellence.
• Identify tooling and platform improvements to boost velocity.
• Define AI-enabled engineering strategy and guardrails.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster technical excellence.
• Remain hands-on with design, prototyping, and critical development work.
