Job summary

The Kleingers Group is seeking a Staff Site Civil Engineer to lead planning, evaluation, and design for civil projects in our West Chester, OH and Louisville, KY offices. You will mentor interns, coordinate with architects and contractors, and apply CAD tools to deliver compliant designs while engaging with clients and regulatory agencies.

• Minimum two consecutive years of civil engineering experience.
• Public speaking ability is desired.
• Execute basic design projects from start to finish as primary designer.
• Develop baseline knowledge of state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Consult with stakeholders and management on engineering requirements for construction.
• Use design and drawing tools to render and communicate designs.
• Set design specifications based on engineering requirements.
• Plan projects from drawings, blueprints, and site data.
• Draft and present reports related to projects.
• Perform material and cost calculations for construction.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers.
• Coordinate with surveyors to establish reference points and elevations.
• Monitor progress and ensure standards are met.
• Teach methodologies to others and maintain intermediate design tool knowledge.

Staff Site Civil Engineer

Full Time Professional Louisville, KY, US

We currently have openings in our offices in West Chester, OH and Louisville, KY for Site Civil Engineers!

The Staff Civil Engineer will provide technical leadership to project teams who will be working on planning, evaluation, design and implementation of civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will lead the study-phase and/or design-phase of projects related to the civil, environmental, construction and industrial fields. The Staff Civil Engineer would regularly have interaction with employees outside of their department, regularly have interaction with clients, occasionally interact with the public (agencies, government entities, etc.), and rarely participate in selling to clients. The staff civil engineer is expected to manage assigned co-ops/interns, while being an example of professional presence, representing the Company and the department in a positive light, and have intermediate level of software knowledge of at least two (2) engineering software packages. This role is notrequiredto haveaProfessional Engineeringlicense.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Consultswithandprovidesguidanceto projectstakeholders andmanagerialstaffregardingengineering requirements for construction of various designs, and modifications.
• Usesdesignsoftwareanddrawingtoolstoaccuratelyrenderandcommunicate designs;plansand designs other necessary improvement related to type of project assigned.
• Setsdesign specificationsbycomputingappropriate engineering requirements (i.e.-water flow rates, traffic demand, earth work balance, etc.).
• Plansprojectsbasedontheanalysisofrelevantmaterialssuchasdrawings,blueprints,aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.
• Drafts andpresents reports ontopics relatedto projects suchasdetention reportsandengineering due diligence reports.
• Perform calculations for materials, equipment, andlabor needed to determine probable construction cost.
• Collaborateswitharchitects,contractors,andotherengineerstoensureprojectsprogressproperly.
• Collaborates with surveyors (or directs and participates in surveying) to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors that will affect construction.
• Monitorsprojectprogressandensuresdesignspecificationsandstandardsaremet.
• AbletoteachandexplaintoothersthemethodologiesusedbyTheCompany.
• Intermediatelevelofunderstandingofdesigntoolsandcivilengineeringpractices.
• Fundamentaldesignofprojectsforsites.Inclusiveofdetentiondesign.
• Participateinappropriate meetings,associationmemberships,andeventsto establish,develop,and grow networking contacts.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
