Job summary

Apptronik in Sunnyvale is seeking a Staff Simulation Engineer for Core Simulation Platform to advance high-performance digital twins used for policy training, controls validation, and CI/CD testing.

You will apply strong C++ and Python, robotics fundamentals, and experience with modern simulators to keep the platform robust and scalable, partnering with Controls, AI Research, and Perception teams.

Qualifications

• Expertise in C++ and Python for robotics simulations.
• Experience with high-performance simulation platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with robotics concepts: kinematics, dynamics, controls, system identification.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture and development of core simulation platform (digital twins).
• Build and scale cloud-native simulation pipelines for millions of experience hours per day.
• Improve sim-to-real transfer with advanced contact models and actuator dynamics.
• Develop sensor-realistic environments (camera, LiDAR, depth) for perception stacks.
• Ship platform improvements to reduce RL, controls, and perception iteration time.
• Collaborate with Controls, AI Research, and Perception teams to support evolving simulation needs.
