Job summary

Rochester Electronics, LLC in Rockville, MD seeks a Design Engineer IV (Staff) to lead high-profile silicon design projects created from original component manufacturers or customer databases. You will collaborate with Product Engineering and partner with test, packaging, quality and production control teams.

The role requires strong communication, mentoring of engineers, and active participation in cross-functional initiatives to deliver design-to-fab solutions while sustaining best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering required.
• 8–10 years of custom silicon design experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to complete designs with clean execution.
• Ensure solid silicon design methodologies and best silicon design practices.
• Document work, schedule estimations, and communicate challenges for any project.
• Provide feedback on proposed solutions from management, customers, and peers.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional, multi-discipline teams to discuss work and outline challenges.
• Mentor engineers in practices, tools and areas specific to tasks.
• Regularly participate on cross-functional teams and multi-discipline teams across the entire company.
• May be asked to perform other tasks as assigned.
