Evolution USA is building autonomous systems for high-stakes environments. We are seeking a Staff Engineer to lead sensor fusion and state estimation across cameras, LiDAR, radar, IMUs and GNSS.
You will work hands-on in a technically rigorous role, integrating data streams and deploying real-time estimation algorithms in the field. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in C++ and Python, multi-sensor fusion, and Kalman filtering, with a track record in autonomous or safety-critical systems.
I'm working with a heavily backed Series C company developing autonomous systems for environments where traditional remotely operated vehicles don't work particularly well.
They're building machines that need to operate with a high degree of independence, including situations where GPS, communications or individual sensors can't always be relied upon.
As you can imagine, that makes sensor fusion pretty fundamental to the product.
They're looking for a Staff Engineer to take a senior technical role across sensor fusion and state estimation, combining data from cameras, LiDAR, radar, IMUs and GNSS.
They're particularly interested in experience with:
Backgrounds that could work particularly well include:
This isn't a role where you'll spend two years developing something that never leaves simulation. You'll see the systems operating in the real world and get a very quick feedback loop on what you've built.
They're also at an interesting stage. There's serious funding behind the business and ambitious deployment plans, but the autonomy organization isn't so mature that all the senior technical positions are already occupied.
For someone who wants to remain technical and eventually move towards Principal or Distinguished Engineer level, there's a lot of scope here.
