Job summary

Prysm Health is building a real-time, scalable platform for healthcare facilities to view census, staffing, clinical documentation, and compliance from a single command center.

We seek a Senior/Staff Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines ingesting data from EHRs, labs, and other systems, with strong TypeScript or Python and SQL skills. The role is remote with periodic travel and reports to the CTO.

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable data pipelines for clinical data.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or Python and strong SQL skills.
• Experience shipping ML-backed data extraction projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines ingesting clinical data from multiple sources.
• Develop and iterate on data models and schemas for efficient querying and reporting.
• Integrate data from various sources (EHRs, labs, other healthcare apps) with data quality controls.
• Migrate facilities off incumbent EHRs with mapping, reconciliation, and cutover tooling.

Job description

• Location: Remote (Boston / NYC / CA preferred)
• Reports to: CTO; works closely with the CNO
• Travel: Periodic travel to facilities and quarterly in-person company events
• Level: Senior / Staff

Compensation and Benefits

• $170,000 to $230,000 depending on experience
• Full benefits: 401k, healthcare, dental, and vision

The platform we are building gives facility operators real-time visibility into census, staffing, clinical documentation, and compliance in a single command center. It anticipates problems before they become crises, automates documentation that nurses currently do by hand, and gives operators the foresight to manage quality at scale.

We have institutional backing from experienced operators and investors who are deeply embedded in the industry, giving us distribution and product validation that most startups spend years trying to earn. The market is Huge. Skilled nursing serves millions of patients across tens of thousands of facilities in the US alone. The engineers who join us will feel that scale as we build.

What you'll work on

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, process, and store clinical data from multiple sources.
• Develop and iterate on data models and schemas that support efficient querying and reporting.
• Integrate data from various sources, including EHRs, lab systems, and other healthcare applications, ensuring data quality and consistency.
• Migrate facilities off their incumbent EHR with mapping, reconciliation, and cutover tooling that operators can trust.

You might be a fit if

• You have both built the data infrastructure as well as used it to analyze and interpret data.
• Strong TypeScript, or Python and a willingness to work in TypeScript, plus SQL you are proud of.
• You have shipped LLM- or ML-backed extraction and built systems to measure and improve its accuracy over time.
• You treat a dropped or duplicated record as an incident, not a rounding error.
• Experience with CMS submissions (iQIES, PBJ) or a claims clearinghouse.
