Job summary

Harbinger Motors is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to lead budgeting and forecasting for Engineering OpEx, CapEx, and headcount. This role partners with Engineering leadership to translate operations into financial impact and to highlight opportunities from the numbers.

The ideal candidate will deliver visibility, build relationships with technical leaders, and be self-motivated with a can-do attitude. California pay range is disclosed; strong Excel/ERP skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with an emphasis in Finance.
  • 5+ years of relevant Finance experience. Preferably in Product Development, but not required.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets and ERP systems.
  • Intellectually curious: Seek to understand the why behind the numbers.
  • Detail-oriented: Values precision and accuracy.
  • Critical thinker: Consider problems and solutions from all angles.
  • Creative problem-solver: Able to identify obstacles and present viable solutions.
  • Highly organized: Capable of managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly rolling forecast for OpEx, CapEx and headcount with variance analysis by comparing actuals to budget and forecast.
  • Partner with leaders to understand operational performance and provide commentary for executive leadership reviews.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process by partnering with cross-functional leaders to validate data and consolidate submissions.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the business.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Engineering on tracking cost down initiatives related to OpEx and CapEx timing.
  • Work with Accounting and FP&A during month-end close for accruals and validation of actuals.
  • Continuously improve processes and tools to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to transform data into actionable insights and recommendations.

Job Overview

Harbinger Motors is seeking a skilled Senior Financial Analyst to lead budgeting and forecasting for Engineering OpEx, CapEx and headcount. This position will partner closely with Engineering leadership to understand operational needs and how that translates to financial impacts. A successful candidate will be able to create visibility and highlight opportunities from the numbers, build strong relationships with technical leaders and is self-motivated with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities
  • Support the monthly rolling forecast for OpEx, CapEx and headcount with variance analysis by comparing actuals to budget and forecast
  • Partner with leaders to understand operational performance and provide commentary required for executive leadership reviews
