Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Staff Systems and Infrastructure Engineer in Information Security to design and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure. You’ll analyze performance, implement security controls, and automate processes to improve efficiency while ensuring compliance with risk frameworks.

You will collaborate across teams to support growth plans and advance cryptographic infrastructure, PKI, and HSM adoption, enabling high availability and robust security across on‑prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 4+ years in systems and infrastructure engineering.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in systems and infrastructure engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
• Security+ or CISSP/CCSP/GSEC or similar certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure infrastructure solutions aligned with business and security requirements.
• Analyze system performance and nonfunctional requirements for reliability and security.
• Implement and maintain security controls, risk management frameworks, and standards.
• Automate operational processes to improve response times and reduce manual work.
• Review system designs for compliance with security policies and industry standards.
• Monitor capacity and plan for future growth to meet business needs.
• Develop and maintain deployment and SOP documentation.
• Collaborate across teams to identify and mitigate security risks.
