Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to join a team serving a leader in Pharmaceuticals & Biotech, focusing on threat detection, incident response, and security operations across a modern cloud and enterprise environment.

You will mentor junior engineers, work with external MDR providers, and help shape monitoring strategy while securing AWS and cloud-native systems in a remote-based role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in security engineering, operations, detection engineering, or incident response.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM and EDR detections across diverse environments.
• Strong background in threat detection and incident response within a SOC.
• Experience with open source threat intelligence platforms such as MISP and Yeti.
• Proven ability to improve alert quality and reduce false positives.
• Experience collaborating with external MDR providers or managed SOCs.
• Strong incident response skills, including leading investigations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-fidelity threat detection content across multiple platforms.
• Enhance detection engineering workflows, with a focus on testing and tuning.
• Collaborate with external managed detection and response providers to refine detection rules and improve investigations.
• Support incident response efforts, including containment and post-incident reviews.
• Build dashboards and reports to measure SOC effectiveness and security posture.
• Monitor and secure AWS and cloud-native environments.
• Evaluate AI-assisted security capabilities and define logging and monitoring strategies.
