Ladders is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to join a team serving a leader in Pharmaceuticals & Biotech, focusing on threat detection, incident response, and security operations across a modern cloud and enterprise environment.

You will mentor junior engineers, work with external MDR providers, and help shape monitoring strategy while securing AWS and cloud-native systems in a remote-based role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in security engineering, operations, detection engineering, or incident response.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM and EDR detections across diverse environments.
• Strong background in threat detection and incident response within a SOC.
• Experience with open source threat intelligence platforms such as MISP and Yeti.
• Proven ability to improve alert quality and reduce false positives.
• Experience collaborating with external MDR providers or managed SOCs.
• Strong incident response skills, including leading investigations.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Security Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space.

This role will focus on strengthening threat detection, incident response, and security operations across a modern cloud and enterprise environment. You will partner closely with external managed detection and response support, internal security stakeholders, and operational teams to improve visibility, reduce noise, and drive faster, higher-confidence response. The position also offers the opportunity to influence security monitoring strategy, mentor junior engineers, and shape the effectiveness of the security function.

Your work will help improve detection quality, operational resilience, and security posture across AWS and cloud-native systems.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $133,960 – $184,195 annually
