Job summary

Tempus AI is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Security Engineering to drive architectural initiatives across the security stack. You will set the technical vision for IAM, enable customer-facing identity systems, and secure agentic AI infrastructure in a fast-paced, microservice environment.

Lead build-versus-buy decisions, guide SSO and identity standards, and collaborate with diverse teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions that protect patient data and intellectual property.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security engineering for distributed microservices.
• Knowledge of identity standards: OAuth, SAML, SCIM.
• Experience with cloud providers and DevOps tooling (Docker, Terraform).
• Mentoring and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical decisions for security engineering and IAM across the platform.
• Manage and improve security microservices and tooling.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enforce internal security standards.
• Drive build/buy decisions and improve engineering velocity in security domain.
• Mentor engineers and communicate new technologies to the broader org.
