Job summary

Tempus AI, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Security to drive architectural initiatives and set the technical vision for security engineering across a decentralized microservices platform.

The role focuses on enabling core identity and authentication, including SSO, OAuth, and SAML, while securing patient data and IP in scalable systems. You will mentor teams and influence build-vs-buy decisions, leveraging cloud providers and open source tools.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience leading software engineering teams in security.
• Experience evaluating tradeoffs and building or buying security solutions.
• Proficiency with distributed, event-based architectures at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead security engineering decisions and implement identity management and observability systems across the business.
• Maintain and improve the security microservices, frameworks, and tooling.
• Collaborate across teams to enforce internal security standards across a microservice driven architecture.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge across Tempus teams.
