Job summary

Forward Financing is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to own the architecture of the company’s security program. You will align AppSec, SecOps, and GRC, ensuring security platforms work together and scale with engineering, IT, and infrastructure.

You will set technical direction, evaluate and integrate tools, and mentor engineers while keeping compliance with CIS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST. Remote-friendly, with opportunities to shape security standards across teams.

Qualifications

• Typically 7+ years in security engineering, architecture, detection engineering, or security operations.
• Experience owning or shaping the architecture of a security tech stack, not just operating a tool.
• Deep cloud security expertise (AWS required; GCP/Azure a plus) with IAM and network design.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end architecture of Forward’s security technology stack across AppSec, SecOps, and GRC.
• Define reference architectures and standards for tooling and integrations.
• Lead and mentor engineers across AppSec, SecOps, and GRC in secure design and best practices.
