Init Intelligence is hiring a Senior/Staff Security Engineer in San Francisco to own security end-to-end—application, cloud, network, and the agent itself. You will lead threat modeling for a governed-identity agent and design in-product security primitives with trusted, gated access and auditable trails.

The role requires hands-on security work, production-grade code in Python/Go/Rust/TypeScript, and the ability to articulate risk trade-offs to engineers and CIOs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on application and infrastructure security experience.
• Production-quality code in Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Threat modeling and vulnerability-identification skills.
• Identity-based controls and workload IAM expertise.
• Cloud security depth on at least one major provider.
• Ability to explain risk trade-offs to engineers and CIOs.
• Ability to work with high autonomy in ambiguity.
• Available to work in person in SF, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Own the security posture: app, cloud, network, and agent.
• Lead secure design reviews and threat modeling for the governed-identity agent.
• Build in-product security primitives and gated write actions.
• Own the security architecture gate for enterprise deployments.
• Run external validation: pen tests, compliance reviews.
• Own incident readiness and breach notification timelines.
• Run cloud/IAM auditing and integrate security into CI pipelines.
• Set policies for credential handling and data egress.
