Job summary

Code Metal, Inc. is seeking the first dedicated Software Engineer in Test (SDET) to shape quality practices for code-generation and AI-assisted workflows. You will build scalable QA infrastructure, drive reliability, and partner with Engineering, Research, and Solutions to deliver trustworthy releases.

You will diagnose complex failures across languages and build systems, mentor engineers, and establish standards for validation and release readiness.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, test infra, or quality engineering
• Experience with Python and C++
• Experience with AI-assisted or nondeterministic systems
• Ability to read and debug C and Rust code
• Architect automated test frameworks and pipelines
• Knowledge of memory models and concurrency

Responsibilities

• Assess existing validation practices, identify gaps, and establish scalable quality strategies for code-generation, transpilation, and software-transformation workflows
• Build automated quality and regression infrastructure for AI-assisted software workflows
• Strengthen and standardize quality signals and release evidence, including regression trends and validation results
• Diagnose complex failures across C/C++, Rust, build systems, and target environments and coordinate fixes
• Integrate validation suites and quality gates into delivery workflows with CI/CD teams
