Beacon Specialized Living in Dumfries, VA is seeking a Staff Scheduler to coordinate Direct Support Professionals across designated homes and programs. The role ensures staffing levels comply with company policies, regulatory standards, and client needs.

You will partner with Care Team Managers and Program Directors, resolve scheduling conflicts, oversee the Scheduling Application, and support admissions, finance, recruiting and operations to meet service levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related social science discipline preferred.
  • Experience with complex scheduling with non-exempt employees.
  • Proven experience in scheduling, staffing, or administrative support.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Knowledge of relevant scheduling software and tools.
  • Understanding of labor laws and regulations, particularly in healthcare or similar fields.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
  • Approved by state, federal and government entities to work within BSLS programs.
  • Ability to use office equipment, including BSLS information technology systems.

Responsibilities

  • Always be compliant with all company and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Care Team Managers (CTM) and Program Directors (PD) to schedule DSPs for shifts, training, and job shadowing opportunities.
  • Assist in creating staffing solutions and resolve scheduling conflicts or issues as they arise.
  • Provide support for special projects and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Oversee the efficient use of the Scheduling Application to maintain accurate and timely scheduling.
  • Engage with CTMs and PDs to ensure compliance with scheduling standards and client needs.
  • Work closely with admissions, finance, recruiting, and operations teams to ensure staffing needs are met across all homes.
  • Provide support for individual staff needs across the state of Michigan (designated area).
  • Monitor staff allocation to reduce overtime and turnover rates, ensuring cost-effective staffing solutions.
  • Collaborate with executive management to strategize labor and payroll efficiencies.
  • Assist with filling shifts in homes as necessary to maintain service levels.

Position Summary:

The Staff Scheduler is responsible for managing and coordinating the scheduling of Direct Support Professionals (DSP) across designated homes and programs. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
