Job summary

Agility Robotics is seeking a Staff Robotics Software Engineer on the AI team to architect and scale production-quality software for Digit’s interaction with the real world. You’ll own end-to-end software for data collection, teleoperation, and whole-body manipulation across real environments, partnering with AI, controls, and hardware to push the boundaries of robotics.

The role emphasizes low-latency design, modular architecture, and proven production-grade delivery, with a hybrid work model

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering for robotics or real-time systems.
• Architect scalable, low-latency software from scratch.
• Autonomous, independent executor delivering production-quality software.
• Design low-latency communication and streaming for real-time apps.
• Trace and debug performance across software, networking, hardware.
• Proficiency in C++ or Rust; Python helps.
• Excellent communication with internal customers (AI, controls, hardware).

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end software for data collection and teleoperation systems.
• Optimize real-time performance for robot execution and communication paths.
• Design for future hardware, sensing, and end-effectors without rewrites.
• Develop validation strategies across simulation and hardware, incl. benchmarks.
• Analyze telemetry to improve operator efficiency and system responsiveness.
