Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a Staff Registered Nurse (RN) for the Nursing Float Pool in Watertown, NY. You will provide direct patient care, assess needs, and implement care plans while supervising other staff as needed.

Responsibilities include medication administration, patient education, and ongoing documentation to ensure safety and quality care in ICU/ED/Telemetry settings. Sign-on bonus up to $24,000 and a float differential of $4.25 per hour accompany a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• RN Float Pool position with direct patient care and supervision.
• Must have NYS RN license and BLS; ACLS and PALS required within specified times.
• Critical care experience and ability to manage stress in high-intensity settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assess patient needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans and supervise other staff.
• Administer medications, monitor health, educate patients and families.
• Document care, adhere to regulations, and ensure patient safety.

Education

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

Current NYS RN license

BLS required

ACLS within 3 months

PALS within 3 months of hire

IV and IV contrast administration certification

Coronary care course or challenge exam within orientation

They administer medications, monitor patient health, educate patients and families, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals. RNs also document patient care, adhere to nursing regulations, and ensure patient safety.· Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.· Current NYS RN license.· BLS required. ACLS, required or obtained within 3 months.· PALS required with within 3 months of hire, IV and IV contrast administration certification required.· Coronary care course or successful completion or challenge exam within orientation period.· 2 years recent (within 2 years) experience in critical care (ICU, PCU, Telemetry or Emergency Department.· Possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principals, ability to provide quality patient care and assess patient's needs.· Must be able to recognize safety issues to self and others.· Demonstrate the use of lifts to move patients in a safe manner.· Must be flexible and able to function well in stressful situations.· Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.· May be required to assume duties as a Charge Nurse.· Strong leadership skills with ability to prioritize and delegate.
