Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a Staff Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care and support a range of units. You will assess needs, develop care plans, supervise staff, administer medications, and educate patients and families.

Requirements include NYS RN license, BLS; ACLS and PALS per orientation timeline; ICU/PCU/ED experience with Labor & Delivery preferred. Sign-on bonus and float pool differential apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current NYS RN license.
• BLS required; ACLS required or obtained within 3 months.
• PALS required within 3 months of hire; IV/IV contrast certs encouraged.
• Coronary care course or equivalent completed within orientation.
• Fetal monitoring course completed within orientation period.
• 2 years recent ICU/PCU/Telemetry/ED experience; 1 year Labor & Delivery preferred.
• Strong nursing knowledge, safety focus, and critical thinking.
• May assume Charge Nurse duties as needed.
• Able to float to Emergency, ICU, PCU, Labor & Deliver, and Med/Surg.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assess patient needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Supervise other healthcare staff on the unit.
• Administer medications and monitor patient health status.
• Educate patients and families; document care accurately.
• Adhere to nursing regulations and ensure patient safety.
• Demonstrate leadership, prioritization, and problem-solving.
