Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Ohio is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our 36-hour-per-week night shift team, 7 pm–7 am, including every other weekend and holiday rotation. You will provide safe, patient-centered care, coordinate with LPNs, PCAs, and allied staff, and support development of care plans.

Qualified candidates hold a BSN or ADN with commitment to BSN, an Ohio RN license, CPR and other certifications as needed.

Qualifications

  • BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
  • Current CPR certification required; willingness to obtain additional certifications as determined by manager

Job description

Overview: 36 hrs/week, nights, 7p-7a, every other weekend, holiday rotation.

Base pay $36.90/hr plus applicable shift differentials. Benefits eligible.

Job Description Summary: Assists patients to move rapidly, uneventfully, and as effectively as possible through their episode of care while maintaining quality and safety as a priority. Delegates, directs, oversees and provides developmentally appropriate patient care. Practices professional nursing and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and maintains a current Ohio Nursing License.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:
  • Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
  • Assesses individualized patient needs.
  • Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel.
  • Plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
  • Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
Education Requirement:

BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire, required.

Licensure Requirement:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.

Certifications:

Current CPR certification required. Must be willing to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certification as determined by your manager based on business unit.
