Job summary

Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio is seeking a part-time registered nurse for Cardiac Observation at FMC Main Campus. The role involves nursing assessment, planning, implementation and coordination of care.

You will educate patients and families, document care accurately, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians to ensure smooth transitions. Ohio RN license and CPR are required, with prior nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program, resulting in one of the following: Diploma in Nursing, Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio.
• CPR required.
• Previous nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process.
• Provides quality nursing care based on a family centered approach.
• Provides education for the patient and family from admission through discharge.
• Provides thorough, concise, accurate and legible documentation of the nursing process.
• Works closely with physicians and other team members addressing patient/family concerns to ensure a smooth transition of care.
• Administers medications and performs treatments in an accurate safe manner.
• Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with FMC policies and procedures.

Job Description

The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role appropriate tasks in the implementation of care.

• Provides quality nursing care based on a family centered approach.
• Provides education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through discharge process.
• Provides thorough, concise, accurate and legible documentation of the nursing process.
• Works closely with physicians and other team members addressing patient/family concerns to ensure a smooth transition of care.
• Administers medications and performs treatments in an accurate safe manner.
• Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with FMC policies and procedures.
• Ensures equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to proper department.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program, resulting in one of the following:

• Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio.
• CPR required.
• Previous nursing experience preferred.

Physical Demands

Must be able to physically exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. Position may require frequent patient handling activity.
